This month’s piece is titled “and through the darkness, a beacon shines forth.”
“and through the darkness, a beacon shines forth” is the final track of Extraordinary Voyages, my ambient album inspired by Jules Verne’s collection of novels of the same name. It’s influenced by Verne’s novel “Lighthouse at the End of the World”, where we follow the main character, a lighthouse keeper, as he evades a band of marauders that are attempting to escape the island on a ship full of loot.
“and through the darkness, a beacon shines forth” is another meditative, nautical themed track. The base of the piece consists of four synths that swell and roll as waves would as they beat against the island’s shore. The piano comes through periodically to deliver a somewhat hopeful message against the synths’ melancholy.
Extraordinary Voyages
Well, that’s the album. I’ve decided to keep it at these eight songs. I’ve also decided to make minor adjustments to some of the mixes and masters so I’ll spend time over the next few months on that. This album is only eight of Verne’s 62 Extraordinary Voyages novels. There are plenty left, maybe I’ll write an Extraordinary Voyages Vol II one day.
If you have been around for awhile or even if you have just started following, thank you. I’m glad that you were able to share a part of this voyage with me.

How cool to bring something out of your imagination and make it real! Especially something that brings happiness to others. I've really enjoyed listening to you build this album track by track.
Very nice. Congrats on completing the album and the voyages!
